Renewing Your Membership with Vipps (Before Expiry)

This guide explains how existing members can renew their Embla Family History membership before it expires using Vipps.

When Will You See the Renewal Notification?

• A membership expiry notification appears 30 days before your membership expiry date.

• This notification reminds you that your membership is about to expire and allows you to renew in advance.

• You may renew at any time during this 30-day period, even if your membership is still active.

Ways to Start the Renewal Payment

You can start the renewal process in two easy ways:

Option 1: From the Expiry Notification

1. Go to the www.embla.no and click on the “Sign in” button

2. Log in to your Embla Family History account.

3. View the membership expiry notification shown on your dashboard.

(Note: This membership expiry notification appears only 30 days before your membership expiry date.)

4. Click on the “Pay with Vipps” button to begin the renewal process.

 

Option 2: From the Navigation Menu

1. Go to the www.embla.no and click on the “Sign in” button

2. Log in to your account.

3. Click the Cart icon in the main navigation menu.

     This will take you directly to the Vipps payment page.

 

Completing the Payment with Vipps

Step 1: Enter Your Mobile Number

1. After clicking the payment button, you will be redirected to the Vipps payment page.
2. Enter the mobile number connected to your Vipps account.
3. You may select the checkbox to save this number for future payments, so you don’t have to enter it again.
4. Click “Next” button to continue.

 

Step 2: Approve the Payment in the Vipps App

1. You will be redirected to a countdown page.

 

2. At the same time, a payment notification will be sent to your Vipps mobile app.

3. Open the Vipps app on your phone.

4. Review the payment summary and details.

5. Tap “Pay” button in the Vipps app to complete the payment.

 

After the Payment is completed

• A payment receipt summary will be displayed in the Vipps mobile app.

• You may share or close the receipt if you wish.

• You will be automatically redirected back to the Embla dashboard.

• Your membership expiry date will be updated, reflecting the renewed period.
